Volkswagen 2nd Showroom at Macpherson opens.

11 Apr 2012 - Volkswagen Singapore launched a new showroom and after sales facility along Macpherson Road to better serve its owners in the Eastern region of Singapore, who are estimated to be 40 percent of its total customer base.

Graced by Mr. Armin Keller, Executive Director, ASEAN Sales Operations Volkswagen AG and Dr. Claus Trenner, Board Member Singapore - German Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the grand opening of its 93 000 square feet facility was hosted by Dr Zeno Kerschbaumer, Managing Director of the Volkswagen Group Singapore. The media event was attended by distinguished guests and members of the press who were treated to a delightful lunch and an guided tour around the new facility.

Showroom capacity at Volkswagen Centre Macpherson is modest, at 8 cars. The number of service work bays sits at 24 while the number of service throughputs the facility can handle per day is 70. In contrast, the Volkswagen Centre Alexandra has a showroom for 22 cars, has 31 service bays and can handle up to 90 service throughputs per day.

The design of the facility has been well deliberated and that it centres on the visiting experience. It spots a clean and simple showroom layout and spots an introduction of a 'dialogue corner’. In this space, the vehicle can be hoisted overhead to allow customers a clear view of the car’s undercarriage. According to Volkswagen, this breaks the ice and facilitates better communication between customers and service advisors.

The launch of a new showroom and after service facility is timely as Volkswagen is seeing a surge in sales and popularity here in recent times.

To celebrate the opening of this facility, VW invites the public to join the festivities this weekend (14 & 15 April 2012) with food, fun activities, facility tours and special offers on VW’s range of cars.
