XPENG Showcases Its Tech-Laden Future At IAA Mobility 2025

At IAA Mobility 2025, XPENG made the European debut of its Next P7, showcasing advancements in AI, intelligent driving and high-performance design.

The brand also announced its first European R&D Center in Munich, opening this September, to drive innovation in AI mobility and collaborate with local users. With AI central to its vision, XPENG is pushing future mobility beyond cars to include humanoid robots and flying vehicles.

XPENG is deepening its investment in Europe with a new R&D centre in Munich, set to open this month as its ninth global hub. This facility will bring the company closer to European users and support innovation in future mobility. XPENG is already the leading Chinese brand in mid-to-high-end BEV sales in Europe, and a July 2025 USCALE survey ranked it first among Chinese carmakers for customer satisfaction, achieving an industry-leading 81% Net Promoter Score in the DACH markets.

Robotaxi trials by next year

XPENG’s strategy centres on its proprietary AI system, which supports its vehicles, flying cars and humanoid robots. The system integrates cloud, computing, hardware and centralised control to create seamless hardware–software synergy. Using this technology, XPENG aims to mass-produce L4 autonomous vehicles and launch Robotaxi trials in China by 2026, while expanding its NGP smart driving system globally by the fourth quarter of 2026.

XPENG showcased its AI-driven mobility vision through five models, including the New G6 and G9 SUVs, X9 MPV, P7+, and the standout Next P7 sports sedan. The Next P7 combines futuristic design with supercar-level performance - 593PS, 0-100km/h in 3.7 seconds, 230 km/h top speed, and set a 24-hour EV endurance record of 3,961km.
