Designed and built as Tesla’s first mass-market sports utility electric vehicle, the Model Y is a step in Tesla’s mission to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy. The mid-size SUV has a 2.1 cubic metre cargo space that provides versatile seating and storage for up to 5 passengers with their cargo, although we are keen to hear if a third row will be available for the Singapore market in future. It just takes 3.7 seconds for the Performance variant to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h with a range of up to 514km (WLTP). Pricing will start at S$142,271 and S$189,995 without COE for the Model Y (RWD) and Model Y Performance (AWD) respectively.

Tesla might market it as an affordable SUV, but there’s still room to spec it to your heart’s content. A fully-specced Tesla Y Performance will set you back S$300,000, no thanks to rising COE premiums and hefty Additional Registration Fees (ARFs) that cannot be overlooked.

Model Y comes with an all-glass roof, autopilot, active safety features, a HEPA filtration system and a “bioweapon defense” mode. As of today, Tesla has opened and operated 7 V3 Supercharging stations in Singapore with 21 Superchargers, covering all the popular destinations and day-to-day needs of Tesla owners’ commute. Tesla will continue to expand its charging network to support the growing community in Singapore. With V3 Supercharging, a Model Y Performance, operating at peak efficiency of 250kW, can recover up to 120km of charge in just 5 minutes.
