Ford Fiesta 1.4 5 D Review: Life is a fiesta

Ford's new Fiesta is now available for interested drivers here, and besides the stylish exterior, we're surprised with its good level of agility and on-road dynamics.

What we like:
pros
Striking good looks
pros
practical and quiet cabin
pros
surprisingly good handling.
What we dislike:
cons
Needs better brakes
cons
15-inch rims and tyre combo too small for the Fiesta
cons
jerky autobox
cons
no manual transmission option for our market.

The strong selling point mainly is the aesthetics - both interior and exterior - that should appeal more to the fairer sex. The good handling characteristics, on the other hand, are added bonus that Ford decided to, thankfully, endow the Fiesta with. It's good at what it does and is equally competent and fun on the road.

So should Geraldine consider the Fiesta? Perhaps she should.

At least she can rest assure she's paying good money for a hatchback that has good overall build quality and pleasing to the eye. And when she finds her right man along the way and wants to tie the knot and start a family, they both could enjoy the car without having to worry about getting a much bigger car...
