The last time Ford offered a Galaxy MPV in its line-up was way back in the 1990s. The first generation Galaxy was basically a Volkswagen Sharan and a Seat Alhambra with a Blue Oval badge stuck on its nose - all three models were notorious for appalling build quality and the lack of reliability back then.
Fast forward to 2010 and Ford has reintroduced the Galaxy to the local line-up. It's not the same model that was sold previously, but the current generation one that was first seen at the 2005 Frankfurt Motorshow. The Galaxy, together with its smaller brother the S-Max, were recently given a mild facelift. The updated Galaxy promises a new and more efficient powertrain, new interior material and features as well as a freshened up exterior.
Outwardly, the Galaxy is yet another Blue Oval that embodies Ford's current styling language that is also featured on the S-Max, Mondeo, Fiesta and the upcoming new generation Focus. Dubbed the ‘Kinetic' design, the look has the right mix of aggression, dynamism and elegance...
