The wagon offers acres of space and practicality, decent dynamics and is superb value for money
What we like:
pros
Decent handling
pros
all-wheel drive security and stability
pros
rear legroom matches class best
What we dislike:
cons
Looks divide opinions
cons
could do with more performance
cons
boot slightly less well-shaped than old model’s

Standard on the base model tested here are cruise control, factory fitted stereo with remote controls on the steering wheel, electrically adjustable driver’s seat, trip computer and so on.

The $93,500 Legacy Wagon 2.0i is barely $2k more than the slightly less practical saloon. The wagon offers acres of space and practicality, decent dynamics and is superb value for money considering the amount of metal you get and that it’s closest competitor in terms of size and utility is the more expensive Ford Mondeo Wagon. Now, if only Subaru made it look better – that’ll make the Legacy Wagon 2.0i a much more convincing prospect indeed.
