Subaru Impreza WRX STI 2.5 5Dr Review: To KL and back...
Kway recently got the keys to his new WRX STI, and took it up North just to let it break-in. Read his long-distance report here...

It's very obvious that this time around, the boffins at Subaru have made the car more agile. But at the same time, they did not compromise on the STI’s handling finesse. Undeniably, it feels softer and not as hard-edged as the models of yesteryears, and that’s a good thing - instead of causing visits to the chiropractor, the new car rides pliantly over rough surfaces and bumps, making it fantastic for daily driving. Plus, corners can be taken at more insane speeds than before too.
I tried unsettling the car, chucking it around tight bends and even causing massive understeer by accelerating out of a bend before reaching the apex - the DCCD and VDC never fails to intervene, and at the same time it also tightens the cornering line. Switch off the VDC, and you can do dramatic four wheel drifts! Of course, there is no defying the laws of physics - you have to be a real lunatic to ever lose control of the STI.
Overall, the STI is a much better car than that it replaces, as it is more focused, built better and definitely easier to live with. It appeals not only to the enthusiast, but also to everyone who wants near super car performance in a practical package.
The Subaru Impreza WRX STI is one tale that has gotten better with time.
