M Sport models include an M aerodynamic package comprising model-specific front/rear aprons and side skirts, plus 19-inch M light-alloy wheels, illuminated door sill finishers bearing the M logo and accents in either light or dark chrome. Inside there’s a BMW Individual headliner in Anthracite and Fineline black wood interior trim strips with high-gloss metal effect.

Amongst other things, you get a welcome light carpet that sees LEDs illuminate the floor when you open the door, variable interior ambient light colours as well as a choice of interior fragrances that can be used to create unique aromas within the cabin via the climate control system. Four zone air-conditioning is standard, so too are soft-close doors and a panoramic sunroof.

At launch only the 740Li will be available in Singapore, with the V8 powered 750Li to follow shortly early next year. Laser headlights will also feature on the 750Li when it comes, together with the optional executive lounge package that transforms the car into true business class. The remote control parking that allows the large car to be parked into small spaces via the display key will also debut with the 750Li next year.

The BMW Individual programme is also available for customers who want a truly bespoke 7 Series limited only by their imagination.

A brief drive with the car during the launch event showed us just how comfortable yet dynamically balanced the new 7 Series is; it handles like a much smaller car but retains the suppleness and superb limousine ride quality. Stay tuned for a more detailed look when we test drive the car in the near future.

The new 7 Series is available now at Performance Motors Limited starting at $456,800 (accurate at 5 Nov 2015).
