COE 2023 Bidding Dates And Schedule

Those who have been following COE trends will figure that it draws parallels to guessing games. Peaks and troughs abound typically, but last year sprung unwanted surprises where premiums soared at alarming rates - peak records were registered in four out of five categories. And towards the tail end of 2022, we saw category A COEs spike to S$90,589 - the highest since 2013.

While the final bidding exercise of 2022 saw premiums decrease in all categories except for Category B, prices are still a long way from being attainable for the masses. We won't be surprised if 6-digit COEs surface yet again, which could influence our decisions to used car purchases instead of securing the right to own a new whip, or renewing the COE of your current ride (click here to secure favourable COE loan renewal rates).

Nevertheless, we’re keeping fingers crossed during the second half of 2023, where more COE will be obtainable once vehicle deregistration increases.

COE bidding dates function systematically - there are typically 2 bids per month. Bids usually start on the first and third Monday of each month at 12pm SGT, and bids close on Wednesdays of the same week at 4pm SGT. There are three exceptions in 2023 to accommodate public holidays that fall on scheduled Mondays and Wednesdays (New Year’s Day, Labour Day and National Day).
