“It was an interesting experience working with the children especially during the cup cake decoration.”
“The CSR event gave us a unique chance to interact with the less fortunate children to realize that they’re not that different from the kids we see everyday.”
“It was a fulfilling experience.”
These were just some of the comments made by the Performance Premium Selection Ltd (PPSL) team about their latest CSR activity at Melrose Home during the March school holiday.
The programme began with an interactive ice breaker for the children and staff to get to know each other by name. As expected, the children were rather shy among the Uncles and Aunties hence the PPSL team had to take the initiative to goof around with the children to make them feel more comfortable. After settling the children down, the cup cake decorating session began. Surprisingly, the boys seemed to enjoy the decorating programme as much as the girls. Everyone filled their empty cup cakes with multi- coloured icing and butterfly and heart- shaped decorative. While decorating their cup cakes were fun and gave the children a sense of accomplishment when they see the final product, the must enjoyable part of it all was the eating of the cup cakes!
First part of the programme ended smoothly, with the children becoming more open and chatty with the PPSL team. After a short break, part 2 of the programme commenced with 2 “telly- match” like contest.
To end the day off on a high, PPSL drove a convertible to Melrose for all the children to take photos with, just before the prize presentation ceremony. Everyone was a winner during this CSR event. The children had fun and won prizes, while the PPSL team learnt a valuable lesson about patience and resilience.
