I'm sure some of you are curious what will be my choice hot-hatch, right? Frankly, I'm torn between two - the Volkswagen Golf Sport and Ford Focus ST.
They both display driving finesse you will never get from a sedan, and being force-fed, well, makes it a bucket load of fun to drive. The Focus ST has the extra edge as it has better steering, and the manual transmission is such a joy to use.
However if it all boils down to practicality and affordability in the long run, I will pick the Volkswagen Golf Sport. Why? Simply because the twincharged powerplant returns incredible fuel economy, and it being a 1.4-litre, shouldn't cost me much come road tax and insurance renewal. The spacious cabin and large boot further seals the deal.
