Borneo Motors Singapore launched the third generation all-new IS model range at the new LEXUS BOUTIQUE at 33 Leng Kee Road today. Incorporating more than 12 Lexus-First features and technical innovations, the all-new IS has been engineered with a renewed focus on sporting performance, agile handling, accurate response to driver input and highly communicative feedback.

William Choo, Commercial Director, Lexus Singapore said, “The new IS range embodies Lexus’ goal of providing customers with our brand’s hallmark elegance and comfort complimented with an evocative new design and a sportier drive. With a completely new interior and exterior, we have left no stone unturned in countless hours of testing and experimentation to bring the best driving experience to our customers – one that combines leading-edge technology and exhilarating driving dynamics. This continues to be an exciting time for the Lexus brand as this new launch complements our ongoing efforts to bring Lexus to an unsurpassed level of excellence, sophistication and luxury.”

A renewed focus on sporting performance is the heart of the new Lexus IS development and every aspect of the new Lexus sedan’s driving dynamics has been painstakingly engineered to achieve that. To create a “fun to drive” car that would deliver driving enjoyment, the Lexus development team adopted a unique approach in developing the all-new IS. Different parts of the previous generation Lexus IS were fitted to competing models and test driven repeatedly to decide which would be the best technology and equipment to be incorporated into the new Lexus IS model. This resulted in 1.6 million kilometres of track testing before the new IS was developed.

THE ALL-NEW LEXUS IS

The all-new IS is a completely redesigned model, with both the exterior and interior engineered to offer an exhilarating driving performance while providing a high level of refinement. The new dynamic design features the evocative Lexus spindle grille and Lexus LFA supercar-inspired design cues. To enhance passengers’ comfort, the wheelbase has been increased by 70mm for more rear leg room and trunk space.

The all-new Lexus IS will be available in three key models – IS 250, IS Hybrid and IS F SPORT. The IS 250 which is powered by a smooth 2.5-litre V6 engine providing 208bhp and the newly introduced IS Hybrid powered by a 2.5-litre 4 cylinders in-line engine, boasting 223bhp. An all-new F SPORT package will also
be available for both models.

THE IS F SPORT

The all-new F SPORT package includes unique 18-inch wheels and special suspension tuning, unique interior and exterior design. The Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) allows the driver to customise his driving needs with a choice of four settings; ECO, for an efficient drive, NORMAL, for everyday driving comfort, and SPORT S or SPORT S+ mode, for optimised body control and agility. An intake sound generator, exclusive to the IS 250 F SPORT, creates a sporting engine note. F SPORT models will also come equipped with the innovative TFT instrumentation with moving centre ring that was first incorporated in the LFA.

THE IS HYBRID

Lexus continues its leadership in the Hybrid segment with the all-new Lexus IS Hybrid. The IS Hybrid combines a powerful electric motor with a newly developed, 2.5 litre, four-cylinder Atkinson cycle petrol engine featuring a new D-4S fuel injection system, Dual VVT-i and a high-efficiency Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system. The system features a class-leading low CO2 emission of 117g/km and a fuel efficiency of 5L/100km.
