On Porsche:

You previously mentioned that you have a fascination for Porsches since your younger days. What is it about Porsches that fascinates you and appeal to you?
I was fascinated with the way that Porsche were willing to try things differently. As a kid, I didn't full understand the technical differences to a more conventional vehicle, but I understood they took a different path to reach a better result. Their heritage is proof of this. The VW Beetle and the Porsche 911 were named in the top five cars of the 20th century by TIME. Some huge numbers, like 70 percent of them (Porsches) built are still running on the road today, a testament to the ingenuity of German engineering.

What is your first memory of any Porsche?
My friend at school. His folks had one. They owned the state large Jewellry retail chain in South Australia. It was a 911 3.2 Carrera. It was sweet.

Your favourite Porsche ever?
Hahaha... this a very hard question to answer. I think I'd like an original Porsche 550 Spyder. The car that James Dean died in.

If there is a historic Porsche race car you can have a go in, which would be it?
That's easy. It would have to be the legendary Porsche 917! Hands down. They make replicas today that are like the real thing if you've got a few hundered thousand quid to spare.

What is the fastest you've ever gone on the race track? And on public roads?
Think on the race circuit, we rarely hit any faster than 265km/h, apart from Formula 1's longest straight, in Shanghai. I think perhaps it is the second longest now but don't quote me on that! On that straight, maybe 270km/h. I probably hit 280km/h on the Terminal 3 tarmac so that was a fast Cup car experience.
And on Singapore roads, I don't think I've exceeded the speed limit since 2002!
