Aston Martin Vantage Scores First WEC Win Of 2026

Aston Martin’s Vantage GT3 finally broke through for its first FIA World Endurance Championship win of 2026, taking victory at the six-hour Lone Star Le Mans at Circuit of the Americas.

It was a huge result for the Heart of Racing Team, too. Its two Vantages finished first and third, giving the US-based team its first WEC double podium.

The winning #27 Vantage was driven by Ian James, Zach Robichon and Mattia Drudi. Starting second, James survived the opening hour before Robichon took over and moved into the lead in the second hour.

Drudi handled the final stint, surviving a late Safety Car before pulling clear in the final 45 minutes to seal the win.

The #23 Vantage of Gray Newell, Dudu Barrichello and Jonny Adam finished third after starting from pole. The result also gave Vantage its first WEC front-row lockout.

The championship remains open. The #23 sits fourth in the LMGT3 Teams standings on 49 points, while the #27 is sixth on 44, with 78 points still available across the final three rounds.

Aston Martin’s Valkyrie also had its best WEC result yet. The #007 Hypercar finished fourth, less than three seconds from the podium, extending its points-scoring streak to eight races.

Tom Gamble and Harry Tincknell have now scored points in every WEC race of 2026.

There was more success in Britain, with Grange Racing by FSR securing the British GT4 Pro-Am title with a race to spare after taking its fifth consecutive class win.
