BMW Lady Owners excel at BMW Driver Training Program
For the first time ever, Performance Motors Limited (PML), sole distributor of BMW cars and motorcycles in Singapore, held an exclusive BMW Advanced Driver Training programme just for their BMW Lady Owners. The programme, part of a road safety initiative by PML, is run at the only structured driver training school in the region at the Johor circuit in Pasir Gudang, Malaysia. A total of 42 BMW lady owners were invited to participate in the two complimentary sessions of the BMW Advanced Driver Training program sponsored by PML’s Aftersales Department as part of PML’s customer rewards program. “Performance Motors recognizes that, in today’s world, ladies are admirable opinion leaders and strong decision makers. They remain powerful influences in family purchasing decisions. This event was specially organized for our BMW lady owners in appreciation of their continual support and loyalty to our brand.” Simon Rock, Managing Director, said.

The ladies were put to their paces and, after a short theory class, undertook a series of active training exercises. Coached and assessed by an experienced Driver Training Team, each participant spent a day honing her skills to gain a BMW Advanced Driver Training Certificate.
“The BMW Advanced Driver Training Course is really worth the time. I’ve learnt safety precautions and am much more knowledgeable about defensive driving. It’s not about speed but safety. As a conservative driver I went in with no preconceptions, but came away from the course with a positive attitude and new mental perspective for the road,” said Stephanie Koh, a UK post-graduate in Corporate Finance.
“The ladies were very enthusiastic about the program and were excellent students. They executed the exercises perfectly.” said Vincent Lee, PML’s Lead Instructor.
Slalom Queens
For additional excitement, the ladies participated in a timed slalom at the end of the course. Stephanie Koh emerged with the fastest time of the weekend: 26.56 seconds, a testament to her smooth driving skills and precision judgement.
“Speed at the slalom is a consequence of smoothness, concentration and technique. These are essential for road safety. The slalom is just one indicator of how well our participants have digested the skills from the BMW Driver Training programme – from the correct steering posture to rapid lane changes, we aim to impart our skills to students so they know how best to react in an emergency situation.” Lee says.
Added Benefits
The ladies were not only able to take away safe driving skills, but also new friends. The camaraderie and fun of sharing a learning experience added another dimension to the programme.
In addition, the ladies were treated to complimentary La Mer sample sets of The Lifting Face Serum and The Lifting Intensifier, and a Driver Training package.
In previous years, PML conducted Driver Training programmes only for their customers. With an expanded driver training fleet of 12 new BMW 330i cars and a team of highly qualified instructors, the company has broadened its tuition to more motorists, irrespective of whether they are BMW owners.
