BRAVO!! Fiat brings back Stilo's predeccesor

To some, the name Brava/Bravo may sound familiar. That may be because until not too long ago (6 years to be exact), the Brava/Bravo were popular hatches from FIAT. First introduced in 1995, it under went a mild make-over in 1999, which included a new engine and restyled dashboard. However, it was discontinued in the 21st century as it was looking dated in the face of competitions from Ford Focus and Peugeot 307. It was then replaced by the Stilo. 6 years on, the Stilo had proved itself to be a sales disappointment and FIAT has once again revived the Bravo/Brava. [B]Bravo to the new BRAVO!![/B] Before 2001, the FIAT Bravo and Brava are effectively two versions of the same car, the Bravo being a 3 door hatch and the Brava a 5 door hatch. The new Bravo, to be launched in Jan 2007, and available in Europe a few weeks after will be produced in Fiat's Piedimonte S. Germano plate (Frosinone). The car, designed by Fiat Style Centre, will replace the FIAT Stilo. This time, the Bravo will be a 5 door hatch, and it is looking very much like a hot-hatch! The front of the new Bravo looks like a pumped-up Punto, and the small chrome grille looks like it is having trouble containing the large FIAT badge. The underpinnings come from the Stilo, although the longer rear overhang boost length to 4340mm. This also allows the boot to swallow 400 litres of your kit, and this, according to FIAT, is best-in-class. 5 engines are confirmed offered and will come in a few forms - 90hp 1.4-litre petrol (previously used in Punto) 120hp 1.4-liter T-JET petrol turbo (new design) 150hp 1.4-liter T-JET petrol turbo 120hp 1.9-liter Multijet turbodiesel 150hp 1.9-liter Multijet turbodiesel The new four pot is claimed to offer better fuel consumption and performance.
