Citroens are futuristic and cool again
There was a time when Citroen built the coolest most stylish cars available – cars such as the Citroen DS and CX looked like futuristic spaceships compared to what was available in the 50s, 60s and 70s. After a period of rationalization with Peugeot, Citroen is re-establishing this tradition of having really forward thinking and advanced vehicles.

A prime example is the exciting C-Metisse concept car that was shown at the recent Paris Motorshow. Low and sleek, the C-Metisse looks like a sports car, but its entirely practical as well, having four doors and a spacious cabin. Features such as the concave rear windscreen and high-tech switchgear recall the futuristic ideas that were found on the Citroen CX. Powering the C-Metisse is a hybrid diesel/electric powerplant – a 208bhp turbodiesel V6 for the front wheels, and two electric motors for the rear. The car is fast too – claiming a 0-100km/h time of just 6.2 seconds and a top speed of 250km/h.
Best of all, Citroen has developed a real cool website that has videos and CGI animation of the C-Metisse in action. Experience this Citroen of the future at: http://www.c-metisse.com
For those that can’t wait for the C-Metisse, the C4’s switchgear is quite cool too – especially the fixed steering boss, and its back-lit centre-mounted LCD instrument panel.
