FIA Unveils Road Safety Projects Across Asia-Pacific, Singapore Among Participants
Safer schools, smarter drivers and better roads are all part of 17 new projects the FIA is rolling out across the Asia-Pacific region.

The FIA has announced 17 new road safety projects across 15 countries in the Asia-Pacific, with Singapore among the nations launching initiatives to improve road safety in their communities.

The projects were developed through the FIA Safe Mobility 4 All & 4 Life programme, an FIA University initiative delivered in partnership with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and supported by the FIA Foundation. The programme brings together FIA Member Clubs and government agencies to develop practical, evidence-based solutions for safer roads.
A total of 36 participants from across the region completed more than 120 hours of online learning, attended three in-person seminars and worked closely with international road safety experts before presenting their projects at a graduation ceremony in Geneva.
The projects address a broad range of road safety challenges, including young driver education, safer school commutes, heavy vehicle driver training, pedestrian safety, child restraint systems and AI-assisted helmet safety. Countries involved include Australia, Bangladesh, India, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and several others.
Singapore's contribution, Drive Well 55+, is a joint initiative by the Automobile Association of Singapore and the Singapore Road Safety Council aimed at improving safety for older motorists.
According to the FIA, the programme is designed to help local organisations turn research and training into practical initiatives that can make roads safer and reduce traffic-related injuries and fatalities across the region.
