Clarion at the double

Clarion has continued its recent tradition of treating the double DIN audio fan to feature-rich, user-friendly in-car solutions, with the launch of the DUZ388RMP.

The 2-DIN receiver utilises a rear USB connector, compatible with WMDRM (Windows Media Digital Rights Management) 10 format files - typically those purchased and downloaded over the internet - and also offers direct iPod control and playback of AAC files, the next generation (1.4 times faster than MP3) compression format commonly used by Apple. There is also a 3.5mm mini jack connector for additional connectivity of stand-alone audio players.

Not neglecting traditional audio playback however, the DUZ388RMP also includes a front-loading CD slot, 18 FM and 6 MW/LW radio station presets and optional CeNet (Clarion's connectivity system) integration of a 6-disc multi-changer.

Further use of the CeNet system allows connectivity of a BLT583 bluetooth device, to transfer mobile phone content seamlessly to the head unit, whilst calls are safely relayed to hands-free mode.

Equipped with 4-channel line outputs, the DUZ388RMP can accommodate two front speakers, with two outputs remaining for connection of up to two subwoofers or rear speakers.

Z-Enhancer Plus sound technology enables the user to select the ideal equalising pattern at will from three types, B-BOOST, IMPACT, and EXCITE, according to the music genre or taste. Also, a 2-band parametric equaliser lets you flexibly set the gain, Q (steepness), and frequency of each of the equalising patterns to perform fine tuning of acoustic characteristics, such as the adjustment of the power and responsiveness of each of the low, mid and high ranges.

The DUZ388RMP's striking appearance is created via a 728 variable colour display and illuminated keys and a high-visibility two-line display and screensavers, which include the ability to edit your own welcome message.
