Cruze the daddy
Lots of little boys want to be racing drivers when they grow up – but how do their parents feel when they really do become one?

Visitors to this weekend’s round of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship at Croft, North Yorkshire, will be able to find out when Tim Plato and Ray MacDowall take to the stage at the Chevrolet display stand.
Tim and Ray, whose sons Jason and Alex drive the two Silverline Chevrolet Cruzes, will be answering questions put to them by the public from 1.25- 1.45pm on raceday. Their sons will also be present, but will no doubt be on their best behaviour.
The four of them will be asked questions from the race goers, who will be able to fill in a question card on the Chevrolet trade stand and hand it in ahead of the Q&A session.
Furthermore, the two Chevrolet Cruzes raced by Plato – himself a father of two – and MacDowall – at 19, the youngest driver in the series - will sport a one-off ‘Who’s the Daddy?’ livery on the day to mark the Fathers’ Day celebrations.
It promises to be an exciting weekend for the Silverline Chevrolet team – after a dramatic day’s racing at Oulton Park earlier this month, which saw Plato claim his second race victory of the season, the team will be looking to score as many points as possible ahead of the season’s short summer break. After Croft, the next BTCC round will be at Snetterton, Norfolk, on August 8.
