Celebrating a decade of offering hybrid powered Honda models in Singapore, local Honda distributor, Kah Motor in Singapore is offering two special Mugen Aero and Mugen Sport packages for its 124bhp and 144Nm Honda CR-Z Sports Coupe.

“Honda Hybrid Power has become a very special part of the Honda line-up in Singapore,” says Mr Nicholas Wong, General Manager of Kah Motor. “We celebrate 10 years of Hybrid Power with these very special Mugen packages.” Honda launched its first notable hybrid model, the Honda Civic Hybrid, here in Singapore back in 2002.

With the Mugen Aero package the CR-Z gains a more aggressive sporty appearance by way of the Mugen front under spoiler, rear under spoiler, side under spoiler, front sports grille and rear wing. Honda also says that with wind tunnel testing for the kit design saw the CR-Z Mugen rear spoiler help generates additional down force from the rear wing, improving traction and high speed stability.

But the most perceptible difference finds itself hidden from sight but acutely felt in a CR-Z with the Mugen Sports package. The new sports suspension, with large damper pistons, “rebound springs” and a better balanced spring and damping rate significantly improves handling and traction. Having five adjustable damping levels also means that ride height gets reduced by 15 to 20mm. The Sports kit also come with Mugen bits like a ‘hybrid’ green fuel filler cap, a Mugen-designed floor mat and a carbon fiber round-head gear knob.

Despite the sporty enhancements, the CR-Z’s acclaimed 20km/L fuel consumption figure is unlikely to take a hit with eco-coaching browbeating the driver into driving efficiently (fuel consumption-wise).

Kah Motor is offering the first 10 CR-Z customers a Mugen Aero Package, worth $6,500. They will also be giving away a Mugen Sports Package worth $5,000 on top of the Aero Package for the first 3 customers of a Honda CR-Z 6-speed manual transmission. At time of publication, prices for the six-speed manual CR-Z start from $142,900, no thanks to steadily climbing COE prices.
