Is This The New Supra?
Toyota at the Detroit auto show will unveil the FT-HS Hybrid Sports Concept — a two-door sports coupe that could provide clues to the next Supra.

According to Toyota, the FT-HS hybrid will be powered by a 3.5L V6 coupled with a electric motor as seen on the GS 450h. This will be good for a 4 second 0 - 60mph time, putting out 400 bhp (a generous increase from the 292bhp made by the GS engine). Designed by Toyota's Calty Design Research in Newport Beach, California, the car will have a 50:50 weight distribution, promising good handling. The concept features a rail-sliding vista-type carbon-fiber or glass roof to open up the coupe to the elements. At 170.3 inches, the concept is just 4.3 inches shy of a Corvette, though unlike the Corvette, it is said to provide for 2+2 seating configuration. We'll expect more details and pictures when this concept debuts at the Detroit Auto Show come 7 Jan 07.
