Jaguar Says Yeah Baby! With The New F-Type

Jaguar Says Yeah Baby! With The New F-Type

The stylish Jaguar F-Type coupe gets a mid-life refresh, with a design that is more cohesive with their current range. The spiritual successor to the legendary E-Type reached our shores last week, and we got a private sneak of the car. The refreshed car retails for $342,999, inclusive of COE, and is available in just one model here, the Ingenium-engined 2.0 turbocharged model which is their base car, produces 300hp and 400Nm. There is their fire-breathing 5.0 supercharged V8 F-Type R variant that Jaguar Singapore will bring in on a special-indent basis, if 575hp and 450Nm churned through an old-school crossplane is something you’d prefer.

Design changes include super-slim Pixel LED Headlights, a larger grille with a mesh finish, and its restyled reverse-opening clamshell bonnet gets functioning vents.

Interior changes include a 12.3” instrument display, replacing analogue dials, and the infotainment is upgraded to a 10” Touch Pro unit, that supports both Apple and Android devices. The F-Type also loses the spare that takes up heaps of real estate in the boot, making it a little more practical.

The F-Type First Edition, a special variant, based on the R-Dynamic trim will also be available to customers purchasing during the first year of the car’s production, featuring unique interior and exterior trim, and specially designed rims.

Current competition for the F-Type will be from the mid-engined Porsche Cayman, and the twin cars from a different mother, the BMW Z4 (though it is sold solely as a droptop) and “more affordable” Toyota Supra.
