The mystery 1.6-litre car of guesswhatcar.sg which had Singaporeans guessing for the past two weeks is finally unveiled yesterday at Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza.

The all-new Kia Cerato Forte was unveiled in the presence of local media, high-level executives from Kia Motors Corporation and local distributor Cycle & Carriage Kia Pte Ltd, and also trade guests.

As Mr Cheah Kim Teck, CEO for Singapore Motor Operations, Jardine Cycle & Carriage puts it, "Even we as the distributor is surprised by how much value Kia Motors Corporation offers through the all new Cerato Forte, with a choice of a 1.6-litre or 2.0-litre powerhouse delivering 124bhp and 156bhp respectively."

Giving a short presentation to guests during the launch, Mr Chin Kee Min, Senior Manager of Kia Operations from Cycle & Carriage Kia said, "We had a Kia branding campaign last September, emphasizing on the 3 brand pillars of Kia - Design, Innovation and Safety. Cerato Forte is the first model we're launching after this brand campaign, and we are proud to say that this model fully encompass these 3 brand pillars."

The Cerato Forte is the first new Kia model to sport the "Shreyer Line", a front grille design based on a representation of a tiger's roaring countenance, conceptualised by Kia's Chief Design Officer, Peter Schreyer.

To date, more than 200 customers have placed their bookings even before the launch, some even without proper viewing of the car and without test-drives. In fact, Cycle & Carriage has never seen such interest in any Kia cars previously.

The Kia Cerato Forte comes in three different trims - 1.6EX, 1.6SX and 2.0SX. Available in both automatic and manual transmission, prices range between $41,999 to $54,999.
