Hyundai has confirmed that they will be coming up with a new luxury sedan as replacement for the current Equus flagship. The new model is currently tagged as the ‘VI’ sedan and is scheduled to be launched in their home market next Feburary.

The current Hyundai Equus first entered production back in 1998 and was developed primarily for the South Korean domestic market.

This new replacement, called the Hyundai "VI", will adopt a RWD architecture to better align it against Germany’s premium sedans. Longer, wider and taller than its predecessor, VI will measure 5,160mm in length, 1,900mm in width and 1,495mm in height.

The engine lineup will include a 3.8L Lambda V6 and a 4.6L Tau V8. A long-wheelbase model will also be offered, complete with a brand new 5.0L version of the Tau V8. Advanced safety features will include a new vehicle stability system and camera-based lane departure warning system.
