Local News: Trans Eurokars committed to new era under new Saab owners

Under the sale of the Saab brand to Spyker Cars N.V., Saab Automobile AB, including all commercial, design, development, engineering (Technical Development Centre) and production facilities in Sweden, will be transferred under the stewardship of parent company Spyker Cars N.V., and will operate as a sister company to Spyker Cars. This transaction secures the future of Saab Automobile after months of uncertainty, and signals the start of an exciting new era for the iconic Swedish brand. Trans Eurokars will remain as the only official distributor for Saab automobiles here in Singapore.

Throughout the months of speculation about the brand’s future, Trans Eurokars has stood firmly by their after-sales commitment to Saab owners here in Singapore. Nonetheless the sealed deal came as a welcome relief to many Saab lovers and owners in the country.

“I was extremely happy when I heard that Saab has finally found a new home in the form of Spyker. I’ve been driving a Saab 9-3 for the past 5 years, and it’s been a satisfying and enjoyable ride so far. Credit has to go to Trans Eurokars as well for standing by the brand and the customers during the past year of uncertainty. They are always quick to respond to my call for maintenance, and are thorough and timely in taking care of my needs,” said 37-year-old Kenneth Swee Kang Min.

In the same vein, Mr. Karsono Kwee, Executive Chairman of the Eurokars Group, was glad to see the conclusion of this long-drawn saga, and expressed his excitement for the future of the Saab brand under the stewardship of Spyker Cars N.V. With Saab’s future secured under the ownership of Spyker Cars N.V., Saab fans in Singapore can now look forward to the highly-anticipated Saab 9-5 sedan which will reach the shores of Singapore later this year. This all-new sedan is inspired by the award-winning Aero X concept car, and combines visual appeal with advanced technologies that promises to deliver a sporting, and rewarding driving experience.
