Mercedes SLS AMG: Test Drive in Gran Turismo 5

Racing fans and visitors to Mercedes-Benz World, Weybridge, Surrey, can experience an exclusive taster of the forthcoming title: a one-track demo on the Nürburgring’s challenging 14-mile Nordschleife circuit at the wheel of a stunning, virtually-rendered SLS AMG, on a specially installed PS3. If you’ve ever wondered how it would feel to get behind the wheel of this gull-winged supercar, this is your chance to see the real thing in store, sit in an actual SLS AMG seat, and experience first-hand what it could be like to put the pedal to the metal in this awesome car.

Until the 23 July, visitors to Mercedes-Benz World will be able to enter an outstanding competition and post their fastest time on a leader board that can be viewed online at slsamg.mercedes-benz.co.uk. The driving competition is open to anyone over 25 years old with a current full UK driving licence and will give five winners with the fastest lap times a truly rare experience. Each winner will exchange the game for the actual car and experience an unforgettable 30 minutes behind the wheel of the SLS AMG on the handling circuits at Mercedes-Benz World. Each winner can also bring one guest with them who will receive a passenger ride in the SLS AMG. To complete the VIP experience, the winners and guests will receive a personal guided tour of Mercedes-Benz World and also dine in the Gullwing Restaurant over looking the circuits for a Formula 1™ style lunch from Absolute Taste, the same company that cater for the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Formula1™ team.

The SLS AMG, with a top speed of 197mph, is the new cover star of Gran Turismo 5 and one of a thousand cars recreated down to the finest detail that players will be able to race in the game. It’s the first playable example of how developer Polyphony Digital has been working hand-in-hand with the world’s top car marques on Gran Turismo®5 to create a supercar experience more realistic than any other. Take the new SLS AMG for a practice spin on the Nürburgring to get you up to speed for when the game arrives later this year – then you’ll be able to race it – and a thousand other cars – on your own, at home with friends, or with a global racing community.
