The escalation of petrol prices has increased demand for smaller, more fuel efficient cars in the American market. And the Verve is Ford's answer to this demand.

The Verve debuted as a three-door hatch at the Frankfurt Motor Show and now it comes to Detroit with a revised front fascia and taillights. The Verve design is based on the European Kinetic Design, which brings a new level of style that small US market Fords have lacked for a long time.

No official word has been released on the Verve's powerplant but the 1.4L EcoBoost engine with PowerShift dual clutch will be perfect for this car (think Volkswagen GT and Fiat's Bravo T-jet).
