New Beetle 1.4 variant arrives on our shores!
It’s the perfect recipe. Take the 21st Century Beetle – the sleekest, sportiest Beetle ever. Add Volkswagen’s multiaward winning 1.4 TSI Twincharger engine, combined with an XDS electronic differential lock. And to keep everything firmly on the ground, a serious rear spoiler. The result: a whole new kind of sports coupe. Design and performance both take centre stage in the Beetle 1.4 TSI. The unmistakable profile of the Beetle is further enhanced by its ‘Rotor’ 17- inch alloy wheels wrapped with 215/55 tyres. The top surface of the rear spoiler is always gloss black, while its underside is painted in body colour.

Inside, a trio of additional gauges on top of the dashboard clearly state this car’s intent. They display turbo boost pressure, oil temperature and lap times.
With 160 bhp on tap – and 240 Nm of torque available all the way from 1,500 to 4,500 rpm – the Beetle 1.4 TSI is always ready for the track. The 7-speed dual-clutch DSG transmission delivers ultra-crisp gear shifts, whether in full automatic mode or when the driver decides to take things
into his own hands using the steering wheel paddles.
This helps the car get from rest to 100 km/h in only 8.3 seconds, and it doesn’t stop accelerating until it hits 207 km/h. Despite this, the Beetle 1.4 TSI sips just 6.2 litres of fuel per 100 km in the combined driving cycle, equivalent to 143 g/km of CO2. It qualifies for a $5,000 CEVS rebate.
Among the standard features are a multi-function leather steering wheel, RNS 510 touchscreen navigation system, KESSY keyless access and starting, Climatronic 2-zone climate control and Park Distance Control with both front and rear sensors.
The launch price of the Beetle 1.4 TSI is . Catch it – if
