New Porsche 911 with Direct Fuel Injection and Double-Clutch Gearbox

Guests present at the ACS (Barker) were brought back on a trip down automobile memory lane as 911 models from today and the past 45 years converged at the iconic clock tower within the school compound. The exclusive launch of the new Porsche 911 Carrera models also paid homage to Porsche’s 45 years of motoring excellence for the 911 line, which has been widely regarded throughout the automobile industry to be both a design icon and technological benchmark.

The new 911 Carrera and Carrera S will offer drivers with Porsche’s classic rear-wheel drive, with an even higher standard of dynamic performance thanks to their all-new flat-six power units displacing 3.6 and, respectively, 3.8 litres. And for the first time, direct fuel injection is being introduced on a Porsche sports car, together with the optional double-clutch gearbox Porsche-Doppelkupplung (PDK), making the new 911 even more sporting and dynamic.

These new technologies enhance the already outstanding efficiency of the 911 to an even higher level than before. The PDK technology allows the Carrera Coupé to offer an outstanding fuel economy of 9.8 litres/100 kilometres. And with all new Carrera models remaining significantly below the fuel consumption benchmark of 11 litres/100 kilometers, CO2 emissions are down by up to 15 per cent.

Maximum output of the 911 Carrera with its 3.6-litre power unit is up by 20 bhp to 345 bhp. Output on the 911 Carrera S with its 3.8-litre power unit is equally impressive, up by 30 bhp to 385 bhp. With this extra power, the Carrera S Coupé now offers a top speed of slightly over 300 km/h.

Prices start from SGD$379,888 for the Carrera and from SGD$424,888 for the Carrera S, while the Carrera Cabriolet retails from SGD$424,888 and the Carrera S Cabriolet from SGD$469,888.
