The Porsche 911 has been honoured as the “2012 World Performance Car” at the New York International Auto Show. The 911 won the award against strong competition. The choice was between 19 vehicles in all. A high-powered jury made up of 64 automotive journalists from 25 countries gave first place to the 911. The seventh generation of the sports car classic from Zuffenhausen celebrated its world premiere back in September 2011 at the IAA International Motor Show in Frankfurt.

Matthias Müller, President and Chief Executive Officer of Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG said of the success of the Porsche 911: “The new 911 received its first award only a short time after it was launched in December 2011. Since then there have been many more. But this internationally important prize is certainly the high-water mark to date.”

The redesigned Porsche 911 generation delivers 350 hp as the Carrera and precisely 400 hp as the Carrera S. The 911 attains speeds of up to 304 km/h. The vehicle's weight fell by as much as 40 kilograms and fuel consumption by as much as 16 percent. The basic price of the 911 Carrera in Singapore starts from SGD 370,325 and SGD 420,679 for the 911 Carrera S.
