Porsche is marking the 50th anniversary of the 911 Turbo with a special edition model, the 911 Turbo 50 Years. The design merges historical references with modern touches, and an optional Heritage Design Package offers further aesthetic enhancements. It’s based on the last-generation 911 Turbo S and limited to 1974 units, celebrating the original 911 Turbo’s debut in 1974.

Historical references

The Type 930 Porsche 911 Turbo, launched in 1974, redefined sports cars by introducing racing-derived turbo technology into a production model. The 911 Turbo 50 Years anniversary model, based on the 2019 911 Turbo S, pays homage to this legacy with features like side vinyl graphics reminiscent of the 1973 Porsche 911 RSR Turbo livery.

It introduces the exclusive colour Turbonite on various design elements and incorporates historical touches like Anthracite Grey accents and a special turbocharger icon badge. The model also comes with 911 Turbo S Exclusive Design wheels in Turbonite.

Interior magic

The interior of the 911 Turbo 50 Years pays homage to the Turbo's history with special design elements. The iconic McKenzie tartan, a nod to early Porsche 911 Turbo models, is featured on the seat and door panel centers. Turbonite accents, such as on the seat belts, controls and decorative stitching, set it apart from the standard Turbo S.

The Turbo 50 logo is illuminated on the door kick plates and embroidered on the headrests, with an anniversary plaque displaying the limited-edition number above the glove compartment. The interior also includes a perforated Race-Tex finish and a custom analog clock on the dashboard.

If you still find the “standard trim” tame…

The 50 Years of Turbo Heritage Design Package, available as an option for the 911 Turbo 50 Years, adds exclusive features inspired by the 1970s 911 Turbo models. The package includes Aventurine Green Metallic paint, with other standard or custom colours also available.

A key feature is a decorative graphic in White (satin finish) that includes a lollipop design with customisable car numbers, a 50 years of Turbo logo and a Porsche logo, which can be modified or omitted for a simpler look. The historic 1964 Porsche crest appears on the front bonnet and wheel caps, with Gold Turbo 50 and Porsche logos on the rear. Inside, additional leather and tartan design elements adorn the dashboard, glove box and seat inlays. The dials and Sport Chrono clock feature green finishes.

Is it fast?

For sure - it’s based on the 2019 911 Turbo S, powered by a 3.7-litre twin-turbo engine delivering 650PS and 800Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds and to 200 km/h in 8.9 seconds.

The car features an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission, all-wheel drive with Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus and a sports exhaust system. Standard equipment includes lowered sports suspension, a front axle lift system, LED matrix headlights and black-finished brake calipers on the PCCB brake system.
