If our drive of the Range Rover is anything to go by, there’s plenty to look forward to in the Range Rover Sport, which made its debut in Singapore at the Art Science Museum.

While the Range Rover focus on ultimate luxury and comfort, the Range Rover Sport is meant to be a smaller, lighter, more driver focused Rangie - and is quite often more than just a badge exercise, as is the case here.

Reductive design has been employed, so the Sport looks decidedly cleaner and streamlined. The biggest changes probably were applied to the rear lights which have a completely different design to the standard Rangie.

The interior features a different steering wheel and new materials like sustainable Ultrafabrics. Otherwise, it’s par for the course with the Range Rover which already has one of the most luxurious interiors around.

The range in Singapore will kick off with the ‘3.0P’ straight six 48V mild hybrid using JLR’s own Ingenium engine, with the range topping BMW-sourced twin turbo V8 available only on indent. The plug-in hybrid version should arrive by Q3 this year, while the all-electric Range Rover Sport will come in 2024.

Dynamic Air Suspension, standard on the Range Rover Sport, introduces switchable volume air springs – a Range Rover first – with twin-valve active dampers for ultimate agility, control and composure.

An optional Stormer Handling Pack is also available, which combines Dynamic Response Pro, All-Wheel Steering, Electronic Active Differential with Torque Vectoring by Braking and Configurable Programs.

Lastly, if you ever wanted to go off-road with the car, there is an innovative Adaptive Off-Road Cruise Control that lets you focus on the steering while the car works its way through the terrain at the desired speed.

The Range Rover Sport is available to order now through Wearnes Automotive with prices starting from $490,999 excluding COE.
