Rolls-Royce Breaks Records At Festival Of Speed
Rolls-Royce celebrated a record Goodwood Festival of Speed over the weekend. The Rolls Royce Wraith dominated the famous Goodwood Hillclimb during the Supercar Run by completing the 1.16 mile course in less than 1 minute and reached 134mph as it passed by Goodwood House. Wraith is the most powerful and dynamic Rolls Royce in history. In the Soapbox Challenge, the Rolls Royce gravity race which was recently on display at the Home of Rolls Royce, successfully finished the course with a top speed of 72mph. Rolls-Royce was delighted to present the ‘Works Team’ that joined 47 Silver Ghosts – many over 100 years old – on the Centenary Alpine Trial. The original 1913 Radley Car and the new 2013 Alpine Trial Centenary Ghost travelled up the Hillclimb side by side each day to spontaneous applause from spectators stood along the length of the course.

The event had a record number of invited guests driving Rolls-Royce Phantoms and Ghosts during the Moving Motor Show. The exhibition stand had thousands of visitors welcomed to view the new Rolls-Royce Wraith on static display throughout the weekend.
The Festival featured the largest fleet of Roll-Royce motor cars ever seen in the UK, with invited guests being conveyed in luxury from the Home of Rolls-Royce on the south-eastern corner of the Goodwood Estate. The Course Director's car this year was a Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupé with race lights and Goodwood decals.
