SG: 400 vehicles affected by airbag recall

Takata manufactured a batch of faulty airbags which eventually found themselves in cars all over the world. At least 16 million vehicles made by 10 automakers around the world have been recalled after concerns that faulty airbags can injure occupants. About 400 cars locally are affected by the recall, manufactured by Honda, BMW, Chrysler, Ford, General Motors, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Subaru, and Toyota. The defective airbags have led to 5 deaths so far, mostly due to the abnormal pattern which the airbag deploys in. The LTA will make known to the owners of the cars when and where to get the part fixed in due course.Pictures used for illustration purposes only.
