Volkswagen Singapore has officially launched the new, all-electric ID. Buzz and ID. Buzz Cargo, with Singapore being the first country in ASEAN to offer these models.

The ID. Buzz is available in 5-seater, 6-seater, and 7-seater configurations, priced at S$299,900, S$324,900, and S$319,900 respectively. The ID. Buzz Cargo starts from S$156,900. Prospective buyers can now secure their orders.

VW Type 1 Kombi and Transporter, modernised

The ID. Buzz and ID. Buzz Cargo are modern interpretations of the classic VW Type 1 Kombi and Transporter, incorporating retro styling with a contemporary twist. The ID. Buzz is available in 4 bi-colour schemes along with 3 single-colour options. Both models are developed on Volkswagen's MEB modular electric platform and manufactured at the VW Commercial Vehicles HQ in Hanover.

How efficient are they?

All ID. Buzz variants feature a 210kW MEB APP550 drivetrain, with battery capacities of 86kWh for the long-wheelbase (LWB) model and 79kWh for the normal-wheelbase (NWB) and ID. Buzz Cargo. The LWB version has a range of 487km, while the NWB and Cargo offer 461km. Charging from 10% to 80% via DC takes 26 minutes, and a full charge using 11kW AC takes 7 hours and 30 minutes.

It’s a modern Kombi after all!

The ID. Buzz provides ample interior space due to its compact MEB electric drive and floor-mounted battery. In the 6- and 7-seater models, the third row of seats is removable, and all variants have foldable second-row seats. With just one row of seats up, it offers 2,469 litres of cargo space, and an adjustable multiflexboard can be added for an extra layer of storage for light items.

“Buzz Box”

NWB and LWB variants come with a Buzz Box, a removable center console that can be used in either the first or second row of seats. It can also be fully removed to create a clear path between all rows of seating. Now we’re talking!

30-colour ambient lighting

The ID. Buzz's interior design is inspired by the classic Kombi, featuring a sleek dashboard with stacked elements, a multifunction steering wheel and digital displays. The vehicle’s personality is enhanced by IQ.Light technology - greeting passengers with custom lighting sequences upon entry and exit. It's chic, cozy cabin is complemented by 30-colour ambient lighting.

Electrochromic panoramic roof

The 6- and 7-seater LWB models come with a 12+1-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, while the 5-seater offers a 9-speaker VW system. LWB models feature an electrochromic "Smart Glass" panoramic roof, the largest ever made by VW, which switches between transparent and opaque at a touch.

Cargo option

The ID. Buzz Cargo is a stylish option for commercial use, available in 7 distinctive single-tone colours and sharing performance figures with the NWB ID. Buzz variant.

It features wide-opening rear wing doors leading to a wooden-covered load compartment that can hold up to 3.9 cubic metres, with scratch-resistant walls. The vehicle has a payload capacity of 770kg and includes sliding doors on both sides for easy access.

Inside, the driver benefits from a powered ergoActive sports seat with memory functions and lumbar support, a 12.9” Infotainment Display, and a Volkswagen sound system. The ID. Buzz Cargo is equipped with various Driver Assistance Systems, such as Attention/Drowsiness Alert, Cruise Control and Lane Assist.
