SG: Delays expected at checkpoint over festive period
The ICA expects up to 430,000 travellers to utilise the Tuas and Woodlands checkpoints over the upcoming Lunar New Year holidays. As such, they warn that there may be delays, and travellers should plan their trips carefully. Even though the first day of Chinese New Year falls on 8th Feb, traffic volume is expected to start building up from the 4th of February, and last till the 14th of February. SG: Tighter regulations for Power-Assisted Bicycles
As announced in late 2015, the LTA will tighten the technical regulations for power-assisted bicycles (PABs). The regulations include the imposing of stricter penalties for those who sell and use non-compliant PABs. These measures are intended to improve safety for PAB users and for other road users, including pedestrians.
On the technical side, the regulations consists of rules which require resellers and dealers to, from 1st February 2016, to comply with new requirements that are aligned with European Standard EN15194. Once the individual models are approved, they will be given a new orange seal. Members of the public who are buying PABs should look out for the new orange seal which will be affixed to PABs that meet the revised technical requirements. Existing PABs will still remain legal for use in Singapore.

SG: New Flyover to be built from Seletar West Link to SLE
The LTA has awarded a contract to Samwoh Corporation Pte Ltd for the construction of a flyover from Seletar West Link to SLE. Once completed, the structure will boast a one-lane road from Seletar West Link to SLE (Westbound) at the CTE/TPE/SLE interchange. It will also provide a direct link between Seletar Aerospace Park/Yishun Town and SLE in the west bound direction.
Works will commence soon and is expected to be completed in 4th quarter of 2018.
