SG: New diesels to meet Euro 6 emission regulations from 2018
The NEA has announced that new diesel vehicles sold from 2018 onwards must comply with the Euro 6 emission standard. The stricter requirements should help to lessen the amount of air pollutants present in the atmosphere. Euro 6 is currently the highest vehicular emission standard set out by the European Union. Whilst importers of diesel vehicles have 3 years to sort out their current inventory, dealers of petrol vehicles do not have the luxury, for Singapore will adopt the new emission standards in late 2017 for petrol vehicles.

SG: New shuttle bus service launched in Bukit Batok
The management of the newly opened HillV2 mall has launched a new shuttle bus service. It will connect Bukit Gombak MRT station to the mall, and will utilise Bukit Batok East Avenue 5, Bukit Batok East Avenue 2, Hume Avenue and Hill Rise to get there. The service is provided free of charge, and will run from 10:00am to 9:00pm daily, at intervals of 40 minutes. SG: Driver of GTR caught for speeding
A blue GT-R was caught speeding by an impromptu road block set up along Seletar Link in the wee hours of yesterday morning. The driver, believed to be in his 20s, recorded speeds of up to 146 km/h, or about slightly more than twice the legal limit. He was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.
The road blocks were set up islandwide on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day to clamp down on errant motorists. Six were arrested for serious traffic violations, which included acts of dangerous driving and drink driving.

SG: New Season Parking Scheme for motorcycles
The HDB and URA have announced that a new Concessionary Season Parking Ticket for Motorcycles (CSPT) will be introduced. The scheme, which was operational since yesterday, would enable ticket holders to park at all HDB and URA car parks for the entire day for just S$20 a month.
If you are a motorcyclist and happen to have an existing HDB Season Parking Ticket, topping up your current ticket by just S$3 for surface car parks, and S$5 for covered car parks, will allow you to enjoy the revised privileges. To be eligible for the CSPT, motorcyclists must be an HDB resident, have a valid HDB motorcycle Season Parking Ticket, and must own a Singapore-registered motorcycle.
CSPT holders will only be allowed to park in the white lots of HDB car parks, which they are not registered in, to ensure residents get first priority. The new pass can be purchased via HDB’s e-Services or at HDB Branches.Pictures used for illustration purposes only.
