SG: New road markings remind pedestrians to look out for vehicles.

The LTA has painted new road markings at several zebra crossings at estates with many elderly resident. The new markings, which spell out the word "look", aims to remind pedestrians at zebra crossings to look out for oncoming vehicles before they cross the road. So far, various crossings at Ang Mo Kio Street 43, Jurong West Street 52, Sin Ming Road and Bukit Merah Central has had the new road markings painted on, with more scheduled to be painted on in the coming months. This comes after positive public feedback from an initial trial in 2012.

The trial not only targets pedestrians, they target drivers as well; new signs for drivers that remind them to look out for and give way to pedestrians have been put up at the junctions of Rivervale Lane and Rivervale Drive and Hougang Avenue 4 and Upper Serangoon Road.
