Singapore Street Racing – Too fast to handle
Come 16th September, MPT will hold the third round of Sprint/Supersprint 2007 where EVOs, WRXs, even the Civics can be seening battling it all out at Car Park F.

Mitsubishi Evo 9 driver, Lester Wong, is now leading in the Fastest Timing of the Year award. He had manage to break 2 consecutive records with 7.05sec during the first round and 6.78sec in the second round that has taken place in the first half of the year. The record timing for last year’s event was set by WRX driver, Lim Lean Tek with a time of 7.30sec.
Honda Civic EG 6 driver, Eddie Ng, is surely the man to watch for in the N.A category. He had dominated during the first and second round, claiming pole position for both the Sprint and the Supersprint event.
Eddie is currently on the top of the list for the FTY in the N.A category, registering a timing of 8.26sec during Round 1 and 8.36sec in Round 2. His toughest competitor for that award is Edgar J D who is also a Honda Civic EG 6 driver, has clocked his personal best timing of 8.88sec during Round 1.
Sprinting down the 201metres race strip may seem easy to some of us. In actual fact, appropriate skills and techniques must be applied during the launch-starts to get a good timing. An inexperienced driver will commit mistakes such as wheel spins and Jumpstarts.
Setting a perfect race car is also no easy matter. Every reformation performed must be made to perfection. Even the slightest impairment would affect the driver’s performance. That is why the relationship of driver and the mechanic must be reciprocal.
Other than watching these high speed actions, there will be concurrent events highlights on-going within the compound as well. It will be the last chance to qualify for the Finals of all the other Events Highlights on that day; Autostyling Challenge, Ultimate Sound Challenge and the Race Queen Search. The finale will be held on 4th November, in conjunction with the 4th round of the MPT Sprint/Supersprint.
AUTOStyling Challenge
All members of public who feels that his ride is one-of-a-kind, is welcomed to take part in this competition. This challenge basically competes in the creativities of dressing up their cars.
Think of this as a beauty pageant for cars.

Any additional add-on kits being installed will be classified under the Advance category. The Advance category limits all add-ons to an increase of 2-levels of specification. Anything further will be classified as the Professional (Open) category.
Ultimate Sound Challenge
Sanctioned by the Asian Media Mobile Association (AMMA), this challenge tests the sound quality produced by the car’s audio system. It is also classified into two divisions; Up to 5 Channels and Unlimited.
The main objective of this competition is to rate the ability of the owner to build an audio or multimedia system that will overcome the problems of vehicle acoustics while reproducing music with minimal noise, distortion and to make the music sound "original".
Race Queen Search
To assist in the booming exposure of Motor Sports in Singapore, the organizers have decided to groom our female accompanies as future Race Queens. After all, the best companions for heavily modified racecars are none other than Race Queens. The finals of the search will also be held during the 4th round of the MPT Sprint/Supersprint.
