Skoda Octavia Turns 30 - And Singapore Is Celebrating With A Boot Challenge
The Octavia has come a long way since its 528-litre boot launched in 1996, but practicality remains at its core.

The Škoda Octavia is turning 30, marking three decades as one of the Czech brand’s most important models.

The modern-generation Octavia entered production in Mladá Boleslav on 3 September 1996. Since then, almost 7.9 million examples have been built across four generations.
The name itself is older, having previously been used by Škoda for a model produced between 1959 and 1971. The modern Octavia was developed after Škoda joined the Volkswagen Group in 1991.

The first-generation liftback arrived with a 528-litre boot, followed by the Combi in 1998 and an all-wheel-drive version in 1999.
The Octavia RS joined the range in 2000 and went on to become a major success, with 1.44 million units produced.

Successive generations brought more space, technology and safety equipment. The current fourth-generation model debuted in 2019 and received an update in 2024, gaining improved connectivity, up to 10 airbags and enhanced driver-assistance technology.
To celebrate locally, Škoda Singapore is putting that practicality to the test with its “Fill Up The Boot Challenge”. Visitors can test-drive an Octavia Selection, attempt the challenge and post their experience on social media to redeem an F&B voucher.
