The new Chevrolet Spark comes to local showrooms
The third generation Chevrolet Spark went on sale in Singapore on 18 August 2006. Marketed as an economical mini-car, the new Spark is available with either a 0.8 or 1.0 litre engine.
The average fuel consumption of the diminutive car comes in at an impressive 5.6 litres per 100km or regular grade petrol, but the trade off is a slow acceleration speed, with the 1.0 litre version requiring 14.1 seconds to go from 0 to 100km/h.
Safety and comfort are the main areas of focus on the new Spark. The chassis is built around a stable passenger cell made primarily of high-tensile steel. This ensures great rigidity and stability. Further reinforcement is used in the A-pillar, front-impact beam, center tunnel and floor side panels.
The interior features the popular center dashboard display for easy visibility. There are also storage compartments all over the interior, including hooks for shopping bags, a cardholder, and coin storage. All designed with urban driving in mind.
The Spark is currently available at a retail price of $37,888.
