This Cat A-friendly ‘Volksmeowbile’ Has A Big Heart

The Volkswagen brand is no stranger to animal welfare and conservation. From the US to the Lion City, Volkswagen dealerships have partnered with local animal shelters and welfare organisations to do their part for animal rescue, outreach, and adoption.

In Singapore, past partners include Cat Welfare Society and homegrown animal advocacy group Hope for Animals. This year, with a shared commitment to supporting communities, Volkswagen has teamed up with Wildflower Studio to promote the joy of feline-assisted experiences.

Wildflower Studio combines art jamming with the concept of a cat café. The first of its kind in Singapore, all sessions include interaction with cats that are up for adoption – a heart-warming approach to using its business to benefit a cause.

Wildflower Studio primarily works with cat rescue groups to foster, rehabilitate, and socialise injured or abandoned cats. By socialising in its art jams, these cats enjoy much higher chances of finding a forever home.

Now, Wildflower Studio and Volkswagen Singapore are taking the benefits of feline friendship beyond the artist's workroom and into NTUC Health nursing homes to provide comfort, support, and enrichment for its residents. This groundbreaking initiative stems from Wildflower Studio's observations of a positive correlation between feline-assisted experiences and mental health.

As part of its support for ‘Purrs for Hearts’, Volkswagen Singapore is providing Wildflower Studio with a Volkswagen T-Cross, nicknamed the ‘Volksmeowbile’, to get their cats around safely and comfortably to the nursing homes, as well as take them for vet visits outside of the programme. This initiative will run through December this year.

By piloting feline-assisted experiences, Wildflower Studio and NTUC Health aim to further explore the potential benefits for mental health and overall well-being.
