Volkswagen Singapore launches new Jetta TSI
VW's innovative 1.4-litre TSI engine has found its way into the Jetta. No surprises there.
The TSI engine, Volkswagen's little pride and joy - by virtue of it's tiny-weeny capacity yet developing a whooping 170bhp - has found a new home in the body of the Jetta.
No surprises though, considering that the TSI engine is much admired in the form of the Golf GT and it is only natural that Volkswagen would want to replicate this success to their other models.
In the Jetta, the 1,390cc turbocharged and supercharged engine developes 170bhp at 6,000rpm with a maximum torque of 240Nm across 1,500rpm to 4,750rpm. Century sprint for the Jetta is a brisk 8.1 seconds.
The Jetta TSI is available for sale now at $95,200 with COE.
