World's Most Powerful Luxury SUV, The DBX707, Makes Its Debut In Singapore
More power and more luxury from the excellent DBX.
Aston Martin unveiled the DBX707 last week in Singapore, which it dubs the world’s most powerful luxury SUV.
At a media briefing with Marek Reichman, Executive Vice President & Chief Creative Officer, of Aston Martin, Marek said that despite the larger numbers of its DBX SUV being produced versus its traditional sports cars, it aims for production numbers of around 10,000 cars per annum to maintain the brand’s exclusivity.
The V8 bi-turbo engine producing 707 PS and 900 Nm is sourced from AMG, but Aston Martin has made significant changes to it to make it sound, feel and drive like an Aston. The brand can’t confirm it, but the DBX 707’s engine is said to come from the AMG GT Black Series and is heavily boosted in its iteration - significantly above 2 bar.
There is a new 9-speed wet clutch gearbox, 420 mm carbon brakes and a new version of the e-diff. There is also a shorter drive ratio of 3.27 (versus 3.07) that handles the full 900 Nm of torque.
Aston Martin expects to sell as many DBX707s as standard DBXs. At an estimated $999,000 without COE and options, the DBX707 is only approximately $150,000 dearer than the DBX - a good deal given the engine, transmission, suspension and brake upgrades that come with it.
