OneShift Car Of The Year is an institution that has been running annually since 2008.
We are proud to have been able to help new car buyers make informed decisions about their purchases. This year, we're doing things differently so that you can have an even better handle of the best cars out there in the market today.
We are narrowing down to just three categories - Best Internal Combustion Engine Car Of 2022, Best Hybrid Car Of 2022 and Best Electric Car Of 2022. We feel the poignant shift towards electrification and these categories reflect this. Over time we would expect to see the 'ICE' category shrinking while the other two increasing. Nonetheless, all categories are important and will remain so.
Of these, we will still crown the OneShift Car Of The Year 2022, of which there is only one winner. In this final test we will pick the best car based on merit and not by their drivetrain types.
We will also reward cars that were the best performing in each factor we rated them on. These factors were carefully chosen to assess the most important characteristics of a car. Therefore, there will be cars that will take home the prizes of: Best Handling, Best Comfort, Best Performance, Best Interior, Best Practicality, Best Build Quality, Best Features, Best Value, Best Sustainability and Best Ergonomics.
We hope you will enjoy this new format and we thank you for your loyal support.

The Jury

James Wong

James Wong

A gentleman with a penchant for all things classic and timeless, James spends way too much time scrolling Carousell Autos ads for interesting cars. In his free time, he enjoys casual 2-stroke kart racing with friends who keep calling him Boss. He is bewildered at how his 3 year old boy can identify cars on the road faster than him.
Joel Foo

Joel Foo

A cycling aficionado and horology enthusiast, Joel likes things that age like fine wine and shuns passing fads. His car fascination equally matches his intrigue for bikes. Some say he is a 60 year old man inside a millennial's body.
Ronald Chua

Ronald Chua

Possibly OneShift’s most dashing presenter, it’ll be challenging to find Ronald dressed in anything but a finely pressed shirt and polished oxfords. Having encyclopedia-like car knowledge and the best dress sense of the team has made him a darling of OneShift's TikTok.
