Steering wheel rim continues to blot out the digital speedometer like in other Peugeots.

Compact steering wheel gives a comfortable grip and hardly requires you to take your hands off the ideal nine and three positions when maneuvering the car. But it is puzzling why Peugeot continues to ignore how the steering wheel rim completely blots out the digital speedometer.

Besides the larger alloys, the Allure version tested here gets a large panoramic sun roof that’ll keep the young ones entertained with passing clouds. With a wheelbase of 2620mm, legroom is decent in the Pug though headroom is slightly impinged by the panoramic roof. At 470 litres, the boot capacity is much larger than the Golf’s 380 litres.

The downward trend of current COE would mean small cars like the 308 will start getting attention again as they become reasonably affordable again. And with the 308 conveniently slipping under the Cat A 130bhp cap, works well for the new hatch.

The new Peugeot 308 is an all-rounder that features improved handling, attractive equipment list, improved build quality and all wrapped in an attractive body. It will force you to take a seriously hard look before moving on to the competition.
