Mitsubishi Lancer EX 1.5 Mivec Sports Review: Bong, bong, bong!

Mitsubishi Lancer EX 1.5 Mivec Sports Review: Bong, bong, bong!

The "other" Lancer, popular as Jay Chou or the Beatles. It sure seems to be selling well, and so we took it out to find out why.

All you have to do is to steer the nose to where you want the car to go. The Lancer will react quickly, confidently and obediently. The chassis stays composed throughout the radius of the bend with minimal body roll. However, do be very alert when going around corners at speed as the braking performance on the EX can only be described as adequate.

EX-pectations

Let me set the expectations straight for this car.

Yes, the new Lancer EX looks ferociously fast even when stationary, goes ferociously well around corners and is ferociously well equipped for its class. However, do not expect the new Lancer to warp from traffic light to traffic light, and devour other cars for breakfast, lunch and dinner (ed. Leave that to the next Evo)

What you can expect from this new Lancer though, is it’s ability to bring you from point A to point B in relative comfort, complimented by all the bells and whistles found only in executive saloons, yet arriving with presence and style which only sports cars are capable of doing.
