Peugeot 207 1.4 2-Tronic Vive 5-Dr Review: High Vive
A new 1.4-litre variant of Peugeot's 207 was quietly introduced to our market recently, and in times of escalating petrol prices, this could be the most logical French alternative - not forgetting the savings come insurance and road tax renewal time too...

Coming in at just under $70k with COE, there is some tough competition for this new 207 variant – in the form of Renault’s Clio and Fiat’s Grande Punto.
The Renault Clio offers a bigger and more powerful engine, but is somewhat not as stylish inside and out as the 207 - moreover, it is a much older design than the 207. Next up is the Fiat Grande Punto - it oozes Italian flair and style, but build quality is not the best around and the engine just lacks the performance.
The 207 will also face stiff competition from the ubiquitous similarly priced but larger Japanese saloons – but then again, none of those are exactly stylish in comparison.
As a package on its own, the 207 has always been a convincing one other than its high asking price. With this new, “cheaper” variant, you’ll have all the unique and good points of the 207…at a reduced price.
