What we like:
pros
Handsome
pros
rugged styling. Strong torque from 1
pros
750rpm.
What we dislike:
cons
Slight jerkiness from the automated manual gearbox.

Though we would’ve preferred the six-speed automatic used in the previous 508 SW, the automated manual in this 508 RXH is somehow made less intrusive with the inclusion of the hybrid system. You could almost mistake it for a full automatic but its jerkiness returns when the car is driven quickly.

The ride in this estate is relatively comfortable but translates to a significant amount of lean in the corners. The steering while accurate doesn’t translate much feedback to the driver.

Conclusion

Premium materials on the inside and a handsome stout body on the outside makes this estate a convincing alternative to the German offerings. But at $149,900 (w/o COE), the Peugeot sits uncomfortably close to its German rivals. However with a CO2 emission of just 102g/km, the Pug is quite a bit cleaner than its rivals and is able to enjoy a $15,000 CEVS rebate. This makes it an attractive choice afterall.
